Tips In Raising A Healthy Child

Looking after your child’s health and well-being can be a very daunting task, especially with work and other household chores you have to attend to, fortunately here are some nutrition and health tips available to parent everywhere.

1.) Be a good example to children – Your good counsel about proper nutrition will definitely fall on deaf ears if you don’t practice what you preach. As a parent, you should realize that the best way to instill good habits in your children is to become a good example for them. This includes eating the right kinds of food.

2.) Ask how their day in school went – Inquire particularly about the kinds of food that they have eaten. You can’t monitor what your children are eating in school, but at least encourage them to make better choices. Better yet, prepare special healthy and nutritious snacks for them every morning so you can be sure that they are getting the proper nutrition they need and deserve.

3.) Exercise with your children – Apart from eating well, exercise is another important component of a healthy lifestyle. Start your children on a healthy regimen of regular physical activities by encouraging them to exercise with you.

4.) Be appreciative of your children – Take notice of your child’s development, especially when it comes to health and nutrition. Don’t forget to let them know how good they look because of their healthy diet.

5.) Make I love you cards and insert them in your child’s notebook - This is another way of letting your child know how much you love him and care for him.

6.) Bring your child to the supermarket or grocery – It is a very good venue for you to teach your children about the different kinds of food available. Don’t fail to answer all their questions and explain to them the benefits of the different kinds of food as well as those that they must avoid of eat sparingly.

7.) Give your child two glasses of milk everyday – Providing two glasses of milk to your child every day is the easiest, most convenient and most affordable way for you to make sure that he gets most of the essential nutrients known as the go, grow and glow foods they need to grow strong and healthy.
